Dean Giovanni “Ganni” Tapang is currently the Dean of the College of Science at UP Diliman and professor at the National Institute of Physics, where he also earned his PhD. He was also a member of the Instrumentation Physics Lab and former Associate Dean for Student and Public Affairs, also at UP Diliman. His interests include language networks, complex systems, and science education and access. He advocates for access to science education: one of his projects is a low-cost science education that allows students to perform varying experiments, called VISSER (Versatile Instrumentation System for Science Education and Research).
