Dr. Felicitas Lacbawan is an expert in molecular genetics and genomics with vast experience in research and development in academic and clinical environments, as well as in executive leadership positions in industry. She is an alumna from PSHS-MC Batch 1976 and earned her Bachelor’s and MD from the University of the Philippines before joining its Faculty in the Department of Human Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She did her residency at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University and fellowship in Clinical Genetics at the National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health (NHGRI-NIH). She is board certified in Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, and Molecular Genetic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology and Clinical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. She has held several high-ranking faculty positions and leadership roles in the healthcare industry, particularly in research and development of genetics and genomics technologies. She notably led research, development, and innovation in Advanced Diagnostics at Quest Diagnostics as its Chief Medical Officer. She had also returned to the University of the Philippines to helm the Philippine Genome Center as its Executive Director. She was also previously on the Board of Directors of Pisayian.
