Gerson Abesamis, MS

Gerson Abesamis is currently the director of the Education Futures Office at the Department of Education where he is building DepEd’s capacity for “futures thinking.” (We’ll let him tell us more about what that means.) He earned his BA in Film/Video and Photographic arts from the University of the Philippines and his Master of Education from Harvard University. He was featured as an emerging leader by the Obama Foundation for his work as the co-founder and director of Habi Education Lab, a nonprofit design studio that builds learning solutions using “inclusive, participatory, and human-centered approaches to design learning.” His vision for education is “an inclusive and responsive system centered on the Filipino learner.
